6. The development of new knowledge by systematic research activity focused on the main issues/subjects that characterize the current program of study and the growth of research orientations and interests among adult educators.
7. The emergence of action research as an important tool for adult educators in their daily professional activities in order to effectively employ modern teaching approaches towards achieving the objectives of adult education.
8. The development of analytical and critical thinking and fruitful dialogue and cooperation to address the problems and challenges related to adults’ learning needs
The graduates will develop the necessary theoretical and practical skills to help adults learn and to cope with the complexity of their educational profession, even if they come from different disciplines, fields and specializations.
Graduates of the Master will be able to work in various sectors, organisations and businesses related to education, training and vocational training for adults of different disciplines, fields and specialisations.

General Requirements
Candidates for a master degree must submit a recognized bachelor degree or qualification deemed to be equivalent to degree level as well as the official transcripts (grade reports) of their first-degree studies. In addition, there could be special requirements for various master programs.
Specific Admission Requirements
The admission requirements are specified in the General Student Regulations as well as in the Frederick University Studies Regulation. An undergraduate degree from a recognized university or the equivalent international qualification or an acceptable professional qualification is considered the main academic requirement. Additionally, very good knowledge of Greek and English is extremely important. The demonstration of satisfactory knowledge of English language (suitable qualifications may include TOEFL, IELTS, GCSE, IGCSE, Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English or equivalent) is considered an advantage. Work experience in the field of adult education will also be considered an advantage.
Prospective students are expected to submit their application and all related documents, such as copies of their degrees, transcripts, one letter of recommendation of professors or supervisors in the workplace, a name/surname and contact information of professors or supervisors in the workplace that may be asked to provide a recommendation, and a research interest report. Where the Program Committee deems necessary, the candidates may be asked for an interview meeting.
By the expiry of the application deadline for admission to the program, the Evaluation Program Committee will evaluate prospective students based on specific criteria, such as academic records, recommendation letters, digital literacy, research interests, interview, work experience, knowledge of Greek and / or English etc. The committee decisions are announced by electronic mail or otherwise to all candidates.
General Criteria for Distance Learning
All Distance Learning Programmes are offered by means of E-Learning methods. Therefore, students applying to enter DL Programmes, additionally to the academic requirements of each programme, must have a good level of digital literacy:
The list of prerequisite digital literacy and equipment that the student should have available in order to participate and be an active member of the program include:
1. Access to reliable broadband internet
2. Computer with camera and microphone capacity
3. Smartphone
4. Ability to send and receive emails and files
5. Ability to operate within a web digital environment such as the learning platform
6. Ability to manage word-processing, presentation and other basic office application functions.
There are no specific examination regulations, assessment and grading methods employed by this Program. The examination regulations, assessment methods and grading system for this Program are the same as the relevant general university regulations.
Graduation Requirements
Students are eligible for graduation after successfully completing 90 ECTS credits in the courses listed in the Program Structure. Furthermore, a student can graduate only if their CGPA is greater or equal to 5.00 out of 10.00.
Graduating students with a CGPA less than 5.00 might have to take extra courses or repeat a number of courses in order to improve their grades.
Access to Further Studies
The graduates of the Program have access to doctoral programmes (PhD) in disciplines related with education.
